Chain Lightning

When the night comes
all of the things that come and go
on radio
like distant early warning
and in a thunder clap
Today
Wave a flag
Tomorrow
Crush dreams of others

Y ahora mira,
Amor que viene,
Amor que va
No renuncies la libertad
Desafío de la expiación

Lightning strikes
play to win
Feel the fall of every drop of rain.

We’re living in a world
where we measures atoms from things
made themselves of atoms
and still there are those
whose life seems to go
from order from chaos
those who think
we can really know

We try to pronounce the names of things at Ikea
Inadvertently summon the old Nordic Gods

We count the headlights
on the road
And form from the real
a vessel to see if primal intel
flows inside
as if whenever anything
sees just for a moment the great why
the alarm goes off at love o’clock
and that which is born
one day to die

Pretty eyed north south east and west
you get primitive sympathy for free
you won’t always tell what has been
or what must be

But we can open our heart
to how things really work
We can fill our home with love and art
and fight the dark
And name our cat Thalia

We escape from social media prison
where three dimensional beings
try to live in two dimensional space

A misguided angel
that couldn’t save anyone
choreographs the dance
at double tempo
then slows it down
to the actual
and we walk frantic, delirious
like running in a dream

Lightning flashes up
from cloud and down
to the ground

and chains , one after another
like strangers

Gravity never evil
just misunderstood
the thunder remembers your name

The oracle sees the rising mist
to the sky
and divines the future
from patterns that appear
and disappear

She sits on a tripod
and grew in size
her hair standing on end
her complexion changing
her bosom swelled
her voice becoming more than human

The trance cloud
rises upward
from Delphi

Chain lightning
flashes
against the darkened sky
